Tallahassee has so much to offer the individuals who wish to remain healthy in all aspects of life. We have wonderful houses of worship of all denominations, as well as good resources for maintaining our physical bodies.

You can access many of the services available through our Natural Awakenings Magazine, or by stopping in at New Leaf Market a cooperative health food store and grocery since the early 70's.

There are two major hospitals located in Tallahassee, as well as a medical school at FSU.
Pet Services
...are excellent in Tallahassee. We're equidistant from two exceptional Veterinary Universities, Auburn in Alabama, and The University of Florida in Gainesville, with many graduates practicing in the area. In addition, we also have a non-profit veterinary hospital, Animal Aid.
St. Francis Wildlife is a wild life sanctuary which fosters many of our sick, injured, or threatened wild animals which abound in our area. They are very busy folks and always need steady volunteers to help care for their guests. The Tallahassee-Leon County Animal Service Center can also use steady volunteer help. Our local shelter works in co-operation with all the local dog and cat rescue organizations located throughout our area. Affiliated with the Shelter is a Realtor® associated group entitled "Critters For Your Crib", which works with new home Buyers interested in adopting a dog or a cat.
Employment
Tallahassee is home to many State and Federal Government Offices, always in need of qualified individuals. Likewise, the universities continually search for new talent. Our city has diversified in many ways in recent years, with the downsizing of government, opening up far more opportunity for service industries and entrepreneurial ventures.
There is now a wonderful Enterprise Zone that affords tax breaks and financial partnerships with individual companies, while Innovation park =innovation-park.com is becoming an area of joint city-county-private corporation partnerships.
