Just For Kids

Tallahassee is proud of it's new state of the art, 26000 square foot skateboard park. While the YMCA Camp Indian Springs actually offers skateboarding with Champion skateboarders in its curriculum The Trousdell Aquatics & Gymnastic Center is world famous. Soccer, Tennis, Baseball and all other sports are strongly represented in the area as well.

For the Brainiacs in your family, a visit to the mag lab will really stretch your mind, as well as the Challenger Learning Center and the Children's activities at the Mary Brogan Museum of Art & Science, (in association with the Smithsonian Institution).

Arts & Culture

The public & private contributions to this category are endless. Some of the following links may put you in touch with your preferences.

Tallhassee has it's own "Little SoHo" area located between the two universities. Part of the Downtown Revitilization area, Railroad Square, once an industrial park, now has a diverse group of artists, crafts people, restaurants and galleries among other retail entities. Like Soho, it's also where many of these artisans live.

Caribbean Carnival

A Downtown centerpiece along with the Capital, State Library, Supreme Court and other historic buildings, is Kleman Plaza, the home of the Mary Brogan Art Museum and the Imax-Challenger Learning Center, with future plans for development of high rise condos as well.

In addition, Cascade Park, currently in development, will be a downtown showcase of nature and man in harmony...at least that's what we're all hoping for!

**As always, I'll be happy to forward information on any aspects of the Tallahassee Community you might want to explore more thoroughly.
